학교정보
매시대학교는 1927년에 Massey Agricultural College로 설립되어 농경, 원예, 기계, 수의학, 과학, 인문 사회 과학 등 다양한 프로그램을 갖춘 종합대학교로 거듭나며, 뉴질랜드를 대표하는 명문대학교 중 하나로 성장했습니다. 메인 캠퍼스인 파머스톤 노스 캠퍼스에 이어 1993년에 오클랜드 알바니 캠퍼스를 1999년에 웰링턴 캠퍼스를 오픈해, 80여년 전통에 빛나는 뉴질랜드에서 가장 큰 규모의 국립 대학교 중 하나로 국내외에 명성을 드높이며, 뉴질랜드 대학 교육의 중추적인 역할을 담당하고 있습니다.
120여 개국에서 온 5,000여 명의 유학생을 포함한 41,000명의 매시대학교의 3개 캠퍼스에서 공부하고 있으며, 뉴질랜드 국내외에서 약 20,000여 명의 학생들이 매시대학교의 온라인 원격 프로그램 (Distance Learning)으로 강의를 듣고 있습니다. 원격 프로그램을 통해 35년 동안 25만여 명의 학생이 과정을 성공적으로 수료 했으며, 현재 대학원 석사 과정까지 3,000과목 이상의 인터넷 강의를 제공하고 있습니다.
매시대학교는 수의학, 식품공학, 정보과학, 농업을 포함한 응용과학 분야와 연구 분야에서도 뉴질랜드는 물론 세계적으로 인정받고 있으며, 뉴질랜드에서 가장 큰 Business College를 운영하고 있습니다. 또한 뉴질랜드 대학교 중 유일하게 항공학과와 분쟁해결학과, 수의학과가 개설돼 운영되고 있으며, 5개의 학부와 대학원 과정까지 150여 개의 전공 과정을 제공하고 있습니다. 특히 수의학과에서는 뉴질랜드 수의사 자격 외에 미국, 호주, 캐나다, 영국 각국의 수의사 자격을 취득할 수 있습니다.
매시대학교는 유학생들의 성공적인 학위 수료와 취업을 위해 정기적인 워크샵과, 진로 상담 등 다양한 서비스를 제공되고 있으며, 25개 국가의 200개 이상의 대학들과 교류 협정을 맺고 있어, 학생들이 세계 각국의 대학교에서 교환 학생으로 공부할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있습니다.
